The very careful renovations have come to an end, and craftsman Hassan has sculpted the final “Welcome to Riad Felloussia” in the wall decoration.
Just one of the details that show how much care has gone into the restauration of this beautiful house in the heart of Meknes, from the woodwork in the patio to the tiling of the bathrooms.
The 4 rooms and suites are romantic and spacious. Two of our suites open directly onto the garden.
Suite Ouzoud has a small lounge and an old Hammam bathroom.
Suite Toubkal has a double bed in a Mezzanine above the bathroom as well as a private Moroccan ‘salon’.
The garden is a pleasant spot for your nice glass of mint tea after your long walks in the gorgeous medina of Meknes.
And of course, as it should be in a real Riad, as well as in the so typical concept of “Maison d’Hôtes”, the house is not just a house, but has real family personality, as the French family owning the riad also live under the same roof.
THE LOCATION
Riad Felloussia is located in the Derb Hammam, a dead end alley in Bab Aissi, which is in the old Medina, and offers a splendid view of El Hedim Square, the very big rectangular square that separates the Medina from the Imperial City. The square is bordered by the City Walls and the 2 major gates Bab al Mansour and Bab el Chemis and is the lively heart of Meknes.
BREAKFAST
The breakfast is a traditional Moroccan breakfast and is always included in the rates.
PRICES
Rates are of 60 and 70 € per night, depending on the room or suite. In very calm periods the riad offers rooms for as low as 50€. Breakfast is always included.
Suggestion… Day Trip to Volubilis:
One of the most popular day trips from Meknes that we can organise, is to go visit the famous Roman ruins of Volubilis.
The site is enormous and really gives an idea of the lifestyle in this Roman outpost that was essentially used for its military position and olive production.
Most of the monuments were unfortunately damaged when Moulay Ismail needed building materials for his palaces in Meknes but there are over a dozen great mosaics to be seen. It is only about 20 km and taxis are very cheap.
We can even find you a taxi for the day if you wish. A cheaper alternative is to take collective taxis and then it will only cost you a few Euros.
