GETTING BY IN MARRAKECH

Is extremely easy. In fact, this page is not even necessary. You can afford taxis all the time (yes, you budget traveler as well).

For such a large city, Marrakech does not have the feel of one. With the views of the Atlas, the fresh air, and the spacious avenues and squares, Marrakech is very easy to get by.

From Menara International Airport, there are buses and taxis from dust to dawn, none of them expensive.

A 'Petit Taxi' is your cheapest option. These small, blue taxis are required to work with a meter, and often only cost from 5 to 15 Dhs, depending on your destination.

Since all our Riads are in or close to the Medina, so you can best head immediately, if possible, to Marrakech’ famous square, Djemaa El Fna. If you did not arrange for your personal pick-up that is.

With the Jmnaa El Fnaa square and the snowy summits of the Atlas in the background, Marrakech is a great destination for a simple weekend or city trip. But it has so much to offer , that you can spend weeks here.

WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO SEE?

You can for example go to the left. The right is also a nice option. There is the north and the south, but whatever direction you take... don't rush.

This just to say... strolling about and having a tea, that is what you do in Marrakech.

Not exploring life but letting life explore you. It is that what makes travelers come back all enthused.

Enjoy the colours, the noise, the peace, make sure you get lost at least once, and hide that tourist guide pocket book in your pocket.

If you ever see a group of disappointed tourists, then you can be sure they had a tourist guide with opening hours that are no longer correct... or they saw a city that looked exactly as in their guide and now they're off to their next city trip somewhere else.

Be a traveler. And you'll love Morocco.

Marrakech changes

Visit RiadDreamer

Marrakech is changing with the month.

Previously a place of fire and smoke, the famous square Jemaa El Fnaa has now been paved, and made up to taste of city trippers.

The "Gare de Marrakech" is now a Rail Centre, including KFC and fashion outlets, and the mayor is a woman - after Essaouira only the 2nd woman to become mayor in Morocco.

The donkeys in the souk have now been replaced by motorcycles... and there is even talk of opening a supermarket in the souks.
